The University of Music’s Continuing Education programme primarily consists of Advanced Studies—postgraduate courses designed for musicians who wish to specialize in particular areas and/or are unable to pursue a full-time Master of Arts.
The programme is organized into four main areas:
The Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Music Performance and Interpretation is aimed at musicians who already hold a degree in music, who wish to broaden their repertoire knowledge and increase the performance skills related to their instrument. It is possible to specialize in chamber music.
The Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Contemporary Music Performance and Interpretation is aimed at musicians who already hold a degree in music, who wish to broaden their knowledge of the repertoire of the last hundred years and increase the performance skills related to their instrument. It is possible to specialize in contemporary chamber music.
The Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Orchestral Studies is aimed at musicians who want to deepen their knowledge of the repertoire or integrate their previous training through the study of various aspects of the performance practice related to the repertoire for orchestra.
The Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Music Performance and Interpretation is a one-year programme designed for musicians who wish to deepen their knowledge of the repertoire or broaden their training through the study of various aspects of performance practice.
The Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Contemporary Repertoire Conducting is aimed at musicians who wish to further their knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of conducting contemporary repertoire.
Il Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Concert Improvisation is aimed at musicians of keyboard instruments who intend to develop spontaneous composing, including its performance in public concert.
The Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Collaborative Piano is a one-year programme designed for pianists who wish to consolidate and further develop professional skills in the principal areas of collaborative practice: accompaniment in instrumental classes, the role of orchestral pianist, and chamber music activity in duo formations (piano and another instrument).
The Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Music Composition is aimed at musicians who already hold a degree in music, who want to further explore aspects relating to composition and integrate their training through relevant analytical tools.
The Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Canto gregoriano, paleografia e semiologia is aimed at musicians/musicologists who already hold a degree in music, who are looking for specialist training and qualification focused on obtaining the skills necessary to analyse and interpret documents related to the musical-liturgical repertoires of the western tradition of Christian chant. The DAS also aims to provide the practical and artistic tools necessary to deal with conducting and interpreting the Gregorian musical repertoire.
The Diploma of Advanced Studies in Instrumental/Vocal Music Pedagogy with a minimum duration of two years offered on a part-time basis. It is designed for those seeking a solid and in-depth education in instrumental and vocal pedagogy. The course is also open to professionals already active in the field who wish to further develop their teaching profile.
The Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Cultural Management is aimed at those who wish to retrain professionally or at professionals already active in the field who wish to improve their skills and acquire a broader overview of the many challenges of today's cultural market.
The MAS is organized by the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana with scientific collaboration of Fondazione Fitzcarraldo of Turin.
