The University School of Music of the Fondazione Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana is pleased to announce that, from September 2023 will join the Continuing Education teaching team:
Alexander Kobrin, currently Associate Professor at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY has extensive teaching experience having taught at other renowned institutions such as the Artist Faculty della Steinhardt School della New York University and the Schwob School of Music della Columbus. He is the winner of numerous first prizes in internationally renowned piano competitions, including first prize at the Van Cliburn International Competition in 2005 and first prize at the Busoni International Piano Competition in 1999; he is also winner of the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in 2003 and the Scottish International Piano Competition in 1998. He has performed in the most renowned concert halls and with several of the world's most famous orchestras.
We wish him a warm welcome and an excellent start of collaboration with the Conservatorio and future colleagues.
